AFGE LOCAL 1975 ENDORSES ROBERT WHITE FOR MAYOR

Washington, DC – Today, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1975 announced their endorsement of Robert White to be the next Mayor of DC. AFGE Local 1975 represents government employees working at the DC Department of Transportation, DC Department of Motor Vehicles, and the DC Department of Public Works as well as other agencies.

“I’m grateful to AFGE Local 1975 for their endorsement,” said White. “It couldn’t be clearer that government employees have lost faith in the Mayor’s leadership and are ready for a Mayor who is focused on the operations of government and solving problems for DC residents. I look forward to partnering with AFGE Local 1975 to ensure we are listening to our hardworking government employees.”

This is Robert White’s fourth union endorsement, following AFSCME District Council 20, the Washington Teachers’ Union and the DC Nurses Association. Additional endorsements include: Attorney General Karl Racine, DC Latino Caucus, Sierra Club, Jews United for Justice, DC NOW, Our Revolution DC, DC Working Families Party, and DC for Democracy.
