Washington, DC – Today, the Capital Stonewall Democrats announced their endorsement of Robert White for DC Mayor. The Capital Stonewall Democrats are the second DC Democratic Party affiliate to endorse in this race, joining the DC Latino Caucus in endorsing Robert White and proving that DC’s Democratic party members are tired of the status quo and believe Robert is the best candidate to solve problems for DC residents. Robert earned over 70% of the membership vote.

“I have spent my career listening to and working with the LGBTQ+ community, and I have led my colleagues in delivering results,” said White, “That’s why I received the highest rating in this race from GLAA and why I am so proud to have the support of the Capital Stonewall Democrats. As mayor, I look forward to continuing to work with community leaders, including the Capital Stonewall Democrats, to make sure we keep all members of our community, especially trans women of color, safe from violence, and provide the health access and employment protections our communities need.”

“The Capital Stonewall Democrats joining the DC Latino Caucus to endorse a challenger is a major rebuke of the Mayor and her leadership,” said Campaign Manager Luz Martínez. “The Capital Stonewall Democrats endorsement is more proof that after eight years, DC residents are ready for Robert White to deliver the solutions our city needs as our next mayor.”

The Capital Stonewall Democrats and the DC Latino Caucus are the only Democratic Party affiliates to endorse in this race, and both have endorsed Robert White. They join Attorney General Karl Racine, AFGE Local 1975, AFSCME District Council 20, the Washington Teachers’ Union, the DC Nurses Association, DC Sierra Club, Jews United for Justice, DC NOW, Our Revolution DC, DC Working Families Party, and DC for Democracy.
